The boot? I hope you don't mean the prestige classes don't exist in 3.5 or do not work well in 3.5 because from the looks of it not every prestige class from 3.0 needs to be reprinted. Some can actually be used the way it was back in 3.0 with no change sor just very little changes.

I believe he meant one of:

1) He didn't like either class, and profoundly hopes that they don't pollute the pages of Complete Arcane when they could be used for something else new and potentially interesting; or

2) He doesn't believe that either was a popular PrC, and so they may be dropped due to lack of interest.

I think he means "the candle caster sucked, because it gave no meaningful abilities, had no flavour and seems a little silly".

And possibly also "it doesn't have any mechanics which are incompatible with 3.5". I'm not entirely sure on that last one.

*never liked Blood Magus or Candle Caster* I hope they never reprint those. The others are fine, especially if they get two new ones other than Acoylte of the Skin, which obviously made the cut.

I thought some of the blood magus stuff was cool and flavourful. I thought some of the other stuff it gave was awful (the blood teleport was terrible for instance) and I believe you could have some much better powers for it. I wouldn't like a reprint, but I would like them to try it again.

Candle caster really contained nothing that couldn't be done by simply scribing metamagic'ed scrolls.
