COMPLETE CHAMPION: May 15th or June 12th? Which is it!?

WotC has specifically stated, by their own staff members in fact, that Complete Champion is due this month and is to be released on May 15th. Even their website has excerpts and saying it's a May release.

But why is it almost every online store is saying it's a June 12th release? Did WotC make a mistake or are the online stores? The only one that has the correct release date is Walmart.com The rest are emailing me and telling me it's a June 12th.

Even Booksamillion.com, which states on their website it's a May 2007 book, is telling me the book is due out in June 12th.

What the hell is going on!?

It was in BAM a week ago and that's how I got Drow of the Underdark so early.

Hopefully, because BAM sent me Drow of the Underdark on May 1st but telling me Complete Champion won't come until June 12th.

They just emailed me and are now saying it is a May release date but they said other sites list it as June 12th. Apparently, WotC must've listed it as a June date a long time ago, but switched it to May recently.

I emailed WotC and asked about the date and this is what they had to say...

Thank you for writing. The official Wizards of the Coast release date is May 2007. In most cases this date reflects the ship date for the book. Perhaps Amazon.com will not order them until later and has decided to post their availability at a later date. Please let me know if you need anymore help!

Item "Complete Champion (Hardcover)" has not yet shipped because it
has not yet been released. We rely on the publisher for release date
information. As listed on our site, it is currently scheduled to be
released on June 12, 2007. We cannot make any corrections on our web
site until the publisher has notified us about the change in the
release date.

Seriously, it would have been nice to see a "looks like our release date needs to be updated" or a "we'll contact the publisher and see", but what do I matter... I'm only paying them money.

That means, "Ask the publisher."



It's usually up to the publisher to give the retailer the right information, but the retailer is supposed to verify it, too. They just had a miscommunication.
