I don't think that game designers are the only ones who can write "meaningful" reviews. In fact, the opposite argument can be made (I don't agree with it, however): game designers should not write reviews, because they will be biased towards their own work.

I thought it was a good review- very detailed and informative.

No, reviews by game designers have less meaning than those of players. The system is for the players not the designers, if a player things it's faulty, then it is. As long as it's explained, qualified it's all good. I never read the score, I just read the review. Sometimes a low point for someone else is a high point for me, or vice versa. Or I just won't care about something.

Anyway, CR is a great idea. It presents a much more unified and scalable XP system than previous systems.
