Complete Warrior -Swashbuckler/Assassin - viable?

I don't have the Complete Warrior book, but was wondering if its core class of Swashbuckler blended well with the DMG prestige class of Assassin. Does the former have intelligence-based combat benefits? Do its skills blend well?

Yes and Yes. Er, the second yes might be a maybe...IDHMBIFOM and I don't remember the exact skill list.

Int is deinitely an important stat for a Swashbuckler though.

It would bve an ineresting combo, but you might need a level of ranger or rogue to get the required ranks in move silently and hide. I'm pretty sure they are not class skills for the swasbuckler. I personally feel that ranger is one of the best classes to lead into the assassain PrC. Good base attack, saves, and skills plus combat style and favored enemy bonuses work well with the assassain's abilities.

Yup. If only Assassin wasn't evil only. :(

BTW, Swashbuckler doesn't have Hide, MS or Disguise as class skills, so yeah, looks like a multi would be needed.

The diguise requirement is low enough that you could do it with just a level or two of Ranger, if you wanted. Then you could be a florentine-fighting, swashbuckler explorer with a resistance to iocaine powder.

Hmmm...he did dress in black, and he did play a role as a pirate that left NO survivors. Maybe he was evil? :)
