[Completely OT] Magazines

I've always enjoyed Astronomy. I've had a subscription to it a number of times over the years.

Yeah, but it's comics were good, it's fiction was top notch (Harlan Ellison actually had something nice to say about Omni, if you can believe that!) and it's science pieces, while often speculative, were never sold as anything more than that.

The fiction and comics were good, yes. But while the speculative pieces were not sold as anything more than that, they didn't actually go far out of their way to point out that they were speculative, either. You'd be surprised at how many people took them for gospel truth, and that annoyed me

Yes, well, I find it hypocritical that a magazine supposedly dedicated to science did so little to prevent (and, IMHO, traded upon) the spread of dumbassedness.

Especially when there are loads of other sources for science reporting and good fiction. It isn't like I felt I was missing something
