Conan, 2nd printing

I've seen the second printing Conan book at my local game shoppe. Do you know if this printing repaired the editing errors reported from the first printing?

If it says 'Atlantean Edition' on the bottom of the cover, yes. It's still not free from errors, but the remaining ones are nothing compared to the first printing. Or do you mean the second printing of the Atlantean Edition? Then I can't tell.

Don't recall seeing "Atlantean Edition" on the cover, but I wasn't looking for it. What versions of the core book are there and what are the differences?

The first edition - says Conan, the Role Playing Game on the cover. Has large mistakes inside.

The second edition - says Conan, the Role Playing Game at the top and Atlantean Edition at the bottom of the cover. Most mistakes are corrected.

The Pocket Guide edition - same as the Atlantean edition but 1) smaller, 2) almost zero artwork, and 3) monster section has been removed.

That help?

Yes, very!

I just have to rant for a second. Does anyone else have Road of Kings? Now, i like the Conan stuff, i really do, but here's a BIG quibble i have about this book...

The full color maps are reprinted no less than FOUR TIMES. Front cover, back cover, middle spread, then individual kingdoms dispersed through text. These are also the identical maps that came with the core book. This is also the identical map that came with the GM screen. This is also the identical map available for free from Mongoose.

I was online today and found a great Conan website that had the kingdoms color coded by what Economic and Technological level they were. Something like that would have been tremendously useful in RoK instead of rehashing a full color map so many times. We're paying a lot for all that color text and print.

OK. Rant over.

I do like Conan though, it's great.

Got a link? Sounds like a valuable resource.

I agree. I read through his adventure (based on Tower of the Elephant), had a few very small suggestions and the author was very willing to listen & revised the adventure accordingly. Drop 'im a line; I'm sure he'd be gratified to hear that people are checking out his site!
