Conan has a voice

I can't wait to see this animated production. Hopefully it will do well, and we'll see more of Robert E. Howard's Conan stories converted into animated movies.

I'd love to see movies made of The People of the Black Circle and The Hour of the Dragon.

If I remember correctly, Red Nails is pretty risque. Naked Altar sacrifices and all that. I wonder if they will be true to the work or edit it for the non-pulp era audience...

Red Nails does have a naked alter sacrifice, but no actual sex (although there is an evil lesbian priestess who lusts after Valeria). And, like any Conan story worth its salt, it has bucketfuls of blood. :)

Is this going to a Conan story, or a sanitized conan story?
This is only a rumour, one of those, "a friend of friend", type of things. I was told that they were thinking about doing this film in two versions. The first would be a more family friendly version, likely a "PG" amount of violence and implied nudity/sex. The second would be more of an "R" rating. With much of the actual material taken directly from the original story. At this time I can neither confrim or deny rumour.

While still low on content, here is the link to the offical site for the film, http://www.conanrednails.com

If the Red Nails film is going to have artwork in the same style as Kaluta's concept pieces, then I have nothing to naysay, and will indeed seek it out. :)

Kaluta's work I've always liked, ever since the cover for Aetherco's Continuum game!

A couple of them copied and pasted for enjoyment:

Kaluta's got a lot of talent, but his freelance stuff for WotC was awful, IMO. He must have been sleepwalking through it for a quick paycheck.

A little worrisome - he's got the scene dead wrong in that second pic. The horses got eaten by the dragon, and Conan and Valeria are forced to flee on foot. Nitpicky, I know, but if the artist can't read the story or script, it'll just be a pretty mess.
