Conan the Barbarian

Sir Elton

First Post
After I complete my first adventure set in Hellas (Greece), I'm going to take a break before I tackle Hercules and create a campaign setting based off of REH Conan the Barbarian with a Original D&D feel for my D&D group. I have feeling that they won't go for playtesting my Argonautica Maga-Adventure/Campaign I'm working on right now.

So I need to get a Conan Book. I need a conan book that contain these stories:

  • Queen of the Black Coast
  • The Frost Giant's Daughter
  • The People of the Black Circle
  • The Slithering Shadow
  • Shadows in Zamboula
  • The Tower of the Elephant

The Frost Giant's Daughter, the Tower of the Elephant, and the Queen of the Black Coast are the ones I'm most interested in reading.

"The Coming of Conan" is a recent publication of Robert Howard's story in their original unedited state before L. Sprague De Camp and Lin Carter got their grubby little hands on them, so it's your best source for the original Conan stories. It has the three stories you are most interested in, but not the other three you have mentioned.

If you're on the cheap you can get the bastardized Ace paperbacks at most used bookstores really cheap instead, but then you will be reading heavy-handed revisions and post-humous collaborations instead of the original stories.
