CONAN THE DESTROYER

I wasn't necessarily defending CtB as the epitome of a Robert E. Howard Conan film. What I was saying was that CtB is much closer to the works of Howard than Destroyer.

A friend of mine has a cat called Conan the Destroyer.

I prefer CtB over CtD as a Conan movie, but CtD always feels like a D&D movie to me. And both are better than the version from a few years ago. When I heard that the actor who played Khal Drogo was playing Conan I was excited, but it was a big letdown in the end.

And the less said about the Ralf Mueller series the better ...

The best part of the new Conan movie was the soundtrack.
They had a number of elements right, but somehow, as a whole it didn't work. Pity.
Still working my way through ERB's Princess of Mars.

The 2011 CtB has grown on me. I was so disappointed when I first saw it, but I like it now...as an "OK" film. I actually put it on in the morning a lot when I'm getting ready for work.
