Sounds awesome. What does it add over the basic stuff? Like I've got an actual WBCE plus the supplements, a copy of S&W White Box from when they were selling on Lulu, etc. I'm willing to be sold on it.

Yeah, major congrats guys! I'm not a purchaser of the S&W line, but I am a very happy subscriber to Slumbering Tsar, so it's great to see such a fantastic company doing so well. Keep at it!

That's what I want to know, too! :) I own pretty much every previous version of S&W (most of which ended up being completely superfluous, IMO) and want to make sure I'm not going to find myself in the same boat with this latest release. Does it add anything substantially different that hasn't already been covered in some past print or electronic edition of S&W?

As posted by Matt on DF:

As to a preview document, I don't know where or if that stands, but here is the PRE-EDIT index so people can see what's in there. This was reformatted and some items were added to it, but it gives some idea. There is also an Index of Tables underneath, which is separate from the book index. This is copied from my MS Word draft document for the index that I made after seeing the first pagination (so some of the numbers will be wrong):

I got in an order for the SC version. Hopefully will ship soon.:)

From what I was able to piece together, the "complete" version is really what I had hoped the "S&W core rules " version would be- a large amount of the "best of" from GH, BM, EW rolled into the original LBB rules.

This is the standard Swords & Wizardry (a clone of the "little brown books" OD&D), plus lots of stuff from the later supplements now added in. It seems planted very firmly between OD&D and 1E AD&D, which I suspect may appeal to a lot of people who liked all the class options of AD&D (you get everything but the Illusionist and Bard with this book), but also preferred the simpler combat mechanics of OD&D or B/X. Also, fleshed out encounter tables, character abilities, ability score mods, saving throws, mass combat, ship to ship combat, some cool dungeon maps (from mythrus tower and rappan athuk), and quite a bit more.
