got ssx3 and am having a blast with it still too many out of bounds areas, but its better than 1&tricky.

And yes for those who mentioned it KOTOR is a great game probably my favorite console rpg since FF7.
SSX3 has been really fun. I'm still shocked at how deep the game is. Fun stuff. :)

FFX-2 is out in a few weeks. Sweeeeeet.

Neither of the prequels were bad movies but they were no where near as good as the original trillogy. The humor was worse the aciton somehow still ended up worse, worse acting, crappy appeals to the child audience(and PIXAR and Disney have shown you can appeal to the child while still apealing to the adults, Lucas hasn't figured out how yet).

Lucas just isn't the same anymore, he no longer seems ot understand why Han shooting first made him a more interesting character. The special editions should of clued us in that the prequels would not live up to our expectations, but hope springs eternal.

I still saw episode 1 7 times in the theater and own 1&2 on DVD, but there just not as good as 4,5,&6.
Star Wars.

Time will tell on how the prequels stack up. All the movies were really short on acting and comedy. It's the action, presentation and the story that keeps me coming back. Right now, II is my 3rd fave SW film. I & VI are tied for last.

Anywho, KOTOR was awesome and it certainly felt like Star Wars but not more than either of the most recent films. The KOTOR sequel (recently confirmed!) better bring back HK-47. He was great. :)

Neither of the preq...blah, blah blah, yakkity shmackity

Totally irrelevant to my point. I don't care what people think of them, I’m sick of they inane need to bash them when ever anything Star Wars related is mentioned. Oh, and don’t assume you know what I think of the movies or how much or little I respect other peoples opinions on them, which it would seem you did because I know I didn't share my feelings on either.

I've been thinking about picking that one up next month. How hard is it? My gaming skills have diminished over the years due to lack of use. Many of the reviews I've read said it gets very hard later in the game.

I live for the day I don't have to read crap like this anymore.*

Shard try Ikaruga for GC if you haven't already.

* Nothing personal AB, but the fact it's no longer possible to read something about SW without someone bagging or the prequel has pushed me over the edge.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I actually liked the last two movies and I'm pretty excited about what I'm hearing about Ep3. However, despite that, I'm not really digging the story. The action is good, and the special effects are great (even if the cgi is a bit overused), but the story seems lacking to me. Thats doesn't mean the movies as a whole aren't enjoyable.

I don't think Ep1 & 2 have stood well on their own. Now, when you add in Ep3, and look at the big picture, I'm sure it will make the whole of the six SW movies better.

That said, KotOR does have an awesome story on par with the original trilogy. It would have made for an excellent movie that I'm sure would have been better than Ep 1 & 2.

Hmmm. I loved KOTOR.

However, there is too much there for one film and not enough to break it into multiple parts. It's best done as a videogame and left that way. Much of the allure is the choices made by the player which would be totally void if put to movie form.

I don't know about not having enough material.
KOTOR Episode 1: Taris & Tantooine
KOTOR Episode 2: Kashyyk & Manaan
KOTOR Episode 3: Koribaan, The Unknown Planet, and the Star Forge

But yea, given that the players has so much control, a video game is definately the best format for this story. Still, a movie or novel about Darth Revan would be pretty darn cool.

Some of the levels deeper into the game are relatively hard, but not F-Zero GX hard (which is damn hard). More often than not, it just takes a little brain work (puzzle solving, identifying weak points on tougher enemies, recognizing boss patterns, etc.), plus there are two difficulty levels to choose from at the outset of the game (Kids and Adults), and two which can be unlocked (V-Rated and Ultra V-Rated). Like many older 2D sidescrollers, what seems difficult at first becomes cakewalk after a little practice, persistence, and memorization.

What I meant by not enough material (and should have said) was that the story, while good isn't all that good on its own. If you take away the player choices you really don't have much characterization or story going on. The best parts of the game are:

- The Star Wars feel
- LOTS of lightsaber combat!
- The choices that you can make as the player that directly impact the story.
- A few of the NPCs.

While it may seem that it would lend itself well to a movie, I don't think it would. Take, for example, the order of planets. It changes things depending on how you tackle them. And some of them aren't worth more than a few minutes of film time if you boil it straight down to plot.

To me, it was fun because it was a game, not because it was an interactive movie like the more recent Final Fantasies.

Honestly, all I want now is a sequel that is already being made and a d20 Sourcebook from WotC detailing that time period. That would be sweet.
