This looks exceptionally cool, Phil... I am looking forward to seeing it. How long is the book? What other kinds of things (other than races and base classes) do you intend to cover?

I'd also be interested in more info.
How many pages?
What 'angle' are you approaching 'fantasy robots' from? A sci-fi angle? An 'Escaflowne/Mecha' angle? A sentient golem angle?

36 pages B&W . . .

Color cover, saddle-stitched, $10. Direct sales only.

It has two races (the stilt has a system for constructing your stilt selected legs, arms, head, intelligence, special features), three classes, an assortment of mechanus feats, and short information on some firearms.

If interest is high I'll do a second book about the same size that adds more races, feats, and probably spells based around the mechanus idea.

As to angle, I can't really point at anything and say "I wanted to do that." I just did what my brain thought was neat.

I hope the preview helps.

Hm, I did print out your preview. The layout and graphics are VERY nice.

One concern, however: you've got a +1 modifier to a stat under the Stilt description. D&D3E has oft-stated reasons for not using +1 stat modifiers (to avoid min maxing of a certain type, etc). Some might see that as a shoddy understanding of the rules at work. What prompted your decision to make the Stilt as you did?

+1 . . .

Well, I've had many people going over and playtesting this and you're the first one to mention that. Please e-mail me if you'd be willing to look over the entire thing and give me your opinions on what I should do to improve it.

I am in no way an expert on the rules and more than welcome help in getting this right. I'd rather delay a few weeks to get better input than release something that has such obvious flaws.

well done

nice layout and art, gives a distinct feel to it.

but, wouldn't all of the constructs have someform of damage reduction, or at least a hardness rating based upon the material they are made out of?

just my .002$ :)
