Consultant-Historical/Religious

Hi Folks,

First off I want to apologise if I have posted this in the wrong location, but I had trouble with the link defining the rules for this area. If I am in the wrong area, I would appreciate it if the moderator would move this posting.

My name is Charles White and I have been involved with RPGs for over 20 years. In addition, I am a seminary graduate with two masters degrees: one in Christian Church History and the second, an advanced masters, in American Religion and Culture. I have been involved in the gaming industry through my company, Fabled Environments for some time now and have been serving as a columnist for Worldforge Magazine as well. I would like to branch out and do some consulting work as well.

If you have a need for someone to aid in the development of religious aspects of an RPG (pantheon creation, church structure, religious issues) or historical research/development then I would like to be involved. I'd like to exhort any publisher who is doing any kind of historical work that could benefit from Charles' expertise to use it. I personally have someone with doctoral experise in the areas which I cover in my historical products and I find him invaluable. Heck, I've done some consulting myself on Jewish matters for some game publishers, and I know my "clients" have found the information I have given them of great use.

I appreciate the vote of confidence! It is amazing the depth that a focus on religion can offer to just about any genre. It can really serve to expand the campaign world and create hooks for adventures. My religious training had benefited me not only by giving me the ability to reflect on the Chrisitian community throughout history and into the modern age, but has also allowed me to take historical events and trends and translate them into a polytheistic world, such as one found in a fantasy campaign. Whether you are looking to publish a supplement covering religion in your game world or in the real world, or want to bat ideas around concerning ecclesiastical structure or game hooks, I am available.
