Contingency in Time Stop

How do the two interact? Are there any oddities resulting from someone unleashing their own contingency during their Time Stop? How about someone else's contingency being satisfied during a Time Stop?

Perhaps an example would help? What issue are you seeing or anticipating? Either the conditions are met or not - and during a Time Stop no conditions involving another character are going to be met.

No effect. In fact, these could be an interesting way to avoid a contingent effect, if you know about it. For example, if something is triggered off you healing yourself and you heal yourself during a Time Stop, no effect.

More interesting to me is using Contingency to generate an extra offensive effect that goes off in right after the Time Stop. Kind of an expensive way to do it, but I think it works.

Sorry, but I'm not following you there. Why not?

I can understand that your contingent spell might discharge and then utterly fail to affect anyone - but why would it not be triggered?

Well, yes, use of Contingency as an inefficient quicken is certainly a possibility, but I can't see that Time Stop specifically changes it in any fashion.

Well, it's possible, I suppose, but with no one else taking any actions, it seems unlikely that any triggering event woudl occur.

I didn't say it would, did I?

I can't think of one off-hand that is specific to Time Stop (and not just one of the hokey attempts at abusing contingency as a sort of omniscient spell).

It could happen, and it would function fine since it's not you affecting them, it's their contingency affecting them. For example, let's say the enemy wizard has contingency to teleport away if suddenly in the presence of a demon. You cast time stop and bring one in (somehow). His contingency activates and he teleports out.

Here's one:
Teleport me home if I get within 10' of an orc.

There's an orc. I've time stopped. I walk over to him ZONK! Back home.

Dumb, but hey.

I wasn't sure if that would happen, or if it would resolve at the end of the time stop. Thanks.

No, you're right; I was just clarifying what it was I was looking for.

So just to clarify:

1. If you are time stopped and your conditions are met your Contingency takes affect? Yes or No?

and

2. If use time stop and you conditions are met your Contingency activates? Yes or No?

To make it even easier; Time Stop has no effect on Contingency. Remember, time has not really stopped, you just suddenly move so fast that it appears to have stopped.
