[Convention] Les Chimériades 4 - South-Eastern France, 8 to 11 May, 2014

The Chimériades 4 convention will be held from May 8 to May 11, 2014 in Château de Buoux, a castle located right in the heart of Provence, South-Eastern France.

For this fourth iteration, come and enjoy three relaxing days of gaming far from the hustle and bustle of your usual conventions thanks to a team of highly dedicated organizers.

You will be offered many activities, such as :

- A lot of roleplaying game tables, in French and in English language.
- Publisher booths, both French and international.
- LARPS.
- A medieval tavern held by a professional caterer who is also a game designer.
- A series of panels with some very prestigious French and international guests.

So far, we are proud to announce the following guests:

- Robin D. Laws, designer of Hillfolk, The Esoterrorists and the GUMSHOE system, Feng Shui, Heroquest, and many more.

- Charlie Krank, designer of Call of Cthulhu and the BRP system, Pendragon, Runequest, Stormbringer.

- Jeff Richard, editor-in-chief at Moon Design Publications and designer of Runequest, HeroQuest.

- Camille Guirou, designer of the French RPGs Les Chroniques des Féals and of the upcoming Les Lames du Cardinal.

- Philippe Auribeau, designer of the French RPGs Les Chroniques des Féals and of the upcoming Les Lames du Cardinal and also of French supplements for Call of Cthulhu.

More guests are to be announced soon, along with a detailed program of the convention, so stay tuned.

As promised, I'll be posting updates for the event, so here is the latest one.

We'll have the distinct pleasure to host at Chimeriades a Glorantha freeform, Rise of Ralios, run by Hervé Carteau, a well-known Glorantha scholar. If you like Glorantha, and even more if you DON'T know the great universe created by Greg Stafford, rush into it!

King Meime of Kustria has invited all the rulers, high priests and champions of all Ralios to the Great Tourney his House organizes every year. Disputes between all are to be settled by jousting and combat, as is the proper way, so innocents do not suffer from war. Yet this year is particularly tense. The city-states of Safelster are under many threats, from within and without. Would-be invaders also strut in the Arena, and many say Arkat, the legendary Hero who became a God a millenium ago, will soon walk the land again !

So you have all gathered at King Meime’s court with your conflicting agendas, ready to use all your assets : fighting prowess, magical power, social abilities, sharp wits and military might in the service of your objectives. You must prevail ! Yet no-one can succeed alone, and will need allies to thwart your ennemies. Choose both wisely ; in these troubled times anything can happen.

RISE OF RALIOS : REBORN is a LARP game set in the region of Ralios of the fantasy world of Glorantha for 20 characters, 6 hours long. You will roleplay one of Ralios’ movers and shakers and intrigue, fight and enspell your way to power and glory. Some of you will want to win the Tourney, others to conquer the region, others to become the new Arkat, yet others… have more sinister goals. By meeting and opposing the other characters, perhaps YOU will become the master of Ralios !

Do feel welcome to join even if you never heard of Glorantha ; all you need is the desire to roleplay ! You will enjoy it even more if you take the time to read the few pages of background on the lands and peoples of Ralios before chosing your character in the list of 20 offered.
