Converting 3.0 leap of the clouds

3.0 monks had a ability called leap of the clouds. If converting a class that has teh ability to 3.5, any ideas on what to replace it with?

There is a feat similar in theme to it in the PHB II (unfortunattely, I forgot the name ). It might have been called "Leap of the Heavens".

The original Leap of the Clouds ability is no longer needed, since the Jump rules have changed (there are no height-based limits any more). The PHB II feat essentially reduces penalties for jumping and gives also a general bonus to it.

Speed gave an indirect bonus to jumping in 3.0 as well. The regular Jump rules were used for creatures with a speed of 30 ft, and if you had a higher/lower speed your jumping distance was proportionally changed (so someone with speed 40 would jump 33% farther/higher).

Correct. Preq is 4 ranks in Jump. With the feat, you don't double the DC if you fail to run before a jump. If you do run, you get a +5 competence bonus on the Jump check. That's about as close to the old version as you can get with the current rules.

The Ninja, from CV, has the Great Leap (Su) ability, which eliminates the double-DC, but grants a general +4 bonus on Jump checks, and is only usable when wearing no armor. This comes in at 4th level, so it's not like you can just dip into the class.

Yes, with no height limit anymore, and the speed bonuses, 3.5 jump rules are fairly simple and straight forward.

Note, the boots of Springing and Striding give you a double bonus, since you get +5 from the boots, and +4 from the speed increase.

Not seen it. Isn't there something similar out there in a different supliment that's 3.5 ready already?
