Spelljammer Converting Spelljammer creatures

Sounds good. Tack it on, and let's see how he looks before skills and feats. Also, did you see the attack bonus corrections I had above?

So Wiz 12/Fighter 1 or Wiz 13/Fighter 1?

Wizard 13, since it specifies the Fool is a 13th level caster.

Weapon Focus (longsword) for the fighter bonus feat?

Alternatively, make death-stealer a rapier and make the fighter bonus feat Weapon Finesse?

Let's keep it a rapier and stick with Weapon Focus.

Skills: 89 wizard ranks plus 7 fighter ranks (+8 racial bonus on Hide, Listen, Move Silently, Search, Sense Motive, Spot)

Suggested Fighter ranks: Intimidate 7
Suggested Wizard ranks: Bluff 5 (cross-class costs double), Concentration 16, Knowledge (arcana) 16, Knowledge (the planes) 15, Profession (pilot) 16, Spellcraft 16

Feats: Scribe Scroll (B), Weapon Focus (longsword), 5 more plus 2 wizard bonus feats and 1 human bonus feat

Suggested Human bonus feat: Iron Will?
Suggested Wizard bonus feats: Empower Spell, Maximize Spell
Suggested remaining feats: Craft Staff, Heighten Spell, Silent Spell, Spell Focus (enchantment?), Greater Spell Focus (enchantment?)

Eh? You either meant longsword or you're trying to confuse me.

Those skills look fine to me.

Empower Spell is OK, but I don't think Maximize Spell gives as good a return. I'd prefer Heighten Spell.

The original's wand of conjuration becomes a staff of conjuration in 3E. That has a CL of 13th, so give the Fool Craft Staff and it can make one for itself.

If the Fool has a wand staff of conjuration maybe it's good at summoning?

How about Spell Focus (conjuration) and Augment Summoning, plus Spell Focus (enchantment) and Greater Spell Focus (enchantment) among the regular feats?

That works out as:

Feats: Augment Summoning, Craft Staff, Empower Spell (B), Greater Spell Focus (enchantment), Heighten Spell (B), Iron Will (B), Scribe Scroll (B), Spell Focus (conjuration), Spell Focus (enchantment), Weapon Focus (longsword)(B)

Both. :]

Empower Spell is OK, but I don't think Maximize Spell gives as good a return. I'd prefer Heighten Spell.

Which is why I included Heighten Spell on my suggested feats list. ;)

Feats: Augment Summoning, Craft Staff, Empower Spell (B), Greater Spell Focus (enchantment), Heighten Spell (B), Iron Will (B), Scribe Scroll (B), Spell Focus (conjuration), Spell Focus (enchantment), Weapon Focus (longsword)(B)

That's very close to what I'd suggested, so I have no arguments. :D

Updated.

Keep in mind the metamagic feats, Spell Focus feats, and his staff on conjuration when selecting spells.

Just to remind us, a staff of conjuration can cast unseen servant (1 charge), summon swarm (1 charge), stinking cloud (1 charge), minor creation (2 charges), cloudkill (2 charges) and summon monster VI (3 charges).

If the Fool has a staff of conjuration it has less use of the Augment Summoning, since it'll can summon combat monsters using its staff's monster summoning VI.

How about swapping Augment Summoning for Greater Spell Focus (conjuration)?

***

We'd better have the spell selection strong on conjuration and enchantments, since the Fool has focus in those abilities.

Here's some possibilities:

Conjuration: acid fog (6th), planar binding (6th), cloudkill (5th), teleport (5th), black tentacles (4th), stinking cloud (3rd - Heightened), acid arrow (2nd - Empowered), glitterdust (2nd) I'd probably cut the cloudkill and just leave it with the staff, but a Heightened stinking cloud is a lot more effective if the Fool casts it.

Enchantment: mass hold person (7th), hold monster (5th), mind fog (5th), charm monster (4th), hideous laughter (2nd - Heightened), touch of idiocy (2nd - Empowered and/or Heightened?)

I guess I could see swapping the feats, since I know GSF adds to the staff's abilities. But would Augmen Summoning act on the summon monster spell cast from the staff also?

That spell list looks good so far.

That's a good question.

Staffs use the wielder’s ability score and relevant feats to set the DC for saves against their spells.

However, I swear it states somewhere that a wielder can use his metamagic feats with a staff, too.

Updated the spell list.
