Cool ideas for living spells

I had some fun with a living silence, because utter lack of noise makes for a spooky effect. It's not particularly nasty in combat unless it manages to sneak up on a spellcaster.

[SPOILSPORT]A number of the spells people have mentioned above (e.g. fly, hideous laughter, slow) can't be living spells. Only area or effect spells can become living spells.[/SPOILSPORT] Of course, this is what Rule 0 is for.

True. I remember seeing the rule and thinking that slow was a burst/area effect at the time. My primary houserule at the moment for this is:

A) The base spell (highest level one) is indeed an area of effect type spell.
B) In the case of combined spells, additional ones must either be of type area affect, or ones that can affect multiple targets.

There is a good reason why single target spells shouldn't be allowed in Living Spells. (Spells that only affect 1 target tend to be very strong) I MHO, ones like slow that can affect multiple targets are much closer to area effect spells, and don't pose the same kind of problem.
