Cool mental images

We had a really cool mental image come up in our games last night, and I thought I’d share it. Our group is adventuring on an island with a very strong rain storm ongoing. Three of our PCs are walking through the heavy rain with their energy-enhanced weapons activated. We described thusly:

The barbarian’s frost longsword: as the rain hits the blade, the water is freezing, and after a couple of minutes icicles hang from it. He has to bang it every so often to break off the ice coating.

The cleric’s shocking warhammer: as the rain hits the head, sparks continuously jump and zap from it.

The monk’s flaming nunchaku: as the rain hits the head, puffs of steam continuously rise from it.

We sort of sound like Snap, Crackle, and Pop walking along the island beach.

Have you “seen” any cool, yet unintended/expected, images come from a game recently?

I think the best/most memorable image I ever conjured up for a party was of a beholder opponent as it drifted out of the shadows, a hideously scarred abomination. Several eyestalks had been severed and covered with rusty plates of iron bolted directly to the eyefiend's skull, and from one of these plates protruded an iron ring and several links of chain.

the party just about wet their pants trying to figure out what could kick a beholder's...tushy... and chain it up.

One of my players once described his character (a bridge troll, or bjergfolk) as "nine feet of ugly in three feet of troll".

As far as my character descriptions, probably Toad and his eladrin familiar Maire. Of Toad's physical appearance...well, at least he bathed (Chr 8). Maire favored a more punk/ballerina look (Chr 19).
