Cooperative Dungeon: open call for Editor

Greetings,

The Cooperative Dungeon team is looking for an additional Editor. You can see what Cooperative Dungeon is all about by going here (http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=78992).

We need someone who is ready to edit the whole adventure, including continuity, spelling, style, and most importantly stat blocks. You must also have previous experience with editing, and be ready to work on a short deadline (within a matter of weeks). You must also be ready to start working now.

The whole CD project is made by volunteers and is thus unremunerated. It is led by me and distributed by Creative Mountain Games. If anything, it is a good opportunity to have your name on a published product. The Cooperative Dungeons are free for download (links in my sig for examples of previous work). They are made by the gaming community for the gaming community, to help fill in a gap of free adventures, of which there are too few available.

So if you have the necessary experience, and willingness, please submit your candidacy in this thread with your email written as such to avoid spam bots: trainz at videotron dot ca

Thank you !

I'd like to chip in that I've edited the previous CDs, but I know I missed things (I saw some errors when I ran my group through CD2). The more pairs of eyes we have looking at these adventures, the better!

I'd be very interested in this project!

Education: BA in English from Michigan State University, specialization in creative writing.

Experience in editing: A creative wrting regime involves extensive self and peer editing, including work on short fiction, nonfiction, short theatrical works, and short and feature length screenplays.

I'll do it if you still need someone.

BTW, all the spambots have long since caught on to at-dot.

This sounds interesting. Would there be any way that someone who's willing (and with some level of amatuer experience but no professional experience) can help?

Sure Enkhidu. In fact, with you and the other two, I already have you guys work cut out.

I will leave this thread open for another day, and unless something comes up, I will then give you instructions on how to become part of the team (the secret handshake and initiation...), and how to proceed. Mark will give you access to the work thread on CMG, and we shall get to work !

I just want to make sure though that the stakes are understood: if you have the slightest feeling that you might not be able to pull the following parameters off, please do NOT say that you'll come aboard:

1- You will have to start working on whatever task will be appointed to you right away;

2- You will have to finish that task within 14 days (two weeks);

3- You intend to be thorough, and when I say thorough, I mean thorough;

4- There will be times when I will have to make a final call on stuff. All input is of course more than welcome, but in order to keep things moving, a decision must be made, and that is part of my responsibilities. If and when that happens, you will not be sour about it and graciously accept whatever outcome is decided. Being roleplayers, I'm sure you're all familiar with the concept... :)

/gets off soapbox

If you are still interested, and agree to the above terms, simply reply in this thread and say "I'M IN !".

Enkhidu, I will need your email if you're in. Use the same format as tarchon used.

Since that 14 day window looks to coincide with my already scheduled vacation (one of those "I just need to recharge" vacations that will keep me well connected electronically), count me in.

In other words:

Drop me a line at my gmail account (enkhidu at gmail, oh you know the rest).

If the CD the same size as it used to be, 2 weeks isn't too bad for an edit. I'm still in.
Are we using APA, MLA, Chicago?

All of the details can be hashed out on the CMG Message boards, so please sign up over there and drop me an email if you are going to use a different screenname than the one you use here. I'll activate your account to have access to a private CD forum. I look forward to working with all of you.
