I think that was a highly questionable turn that WotC made with no really good reason other than they wanted to get further away from their Tolkeinist origin.

I would like to see them move farther away still and drop halflings altogether.

I'm really surprised more people aren't mobilized against Obad-Hai. Is it that folks like him or there are bigger fish to fry this round? I can get behind the Lolth haters though. Not a fan either. Heck, at least I could spell her name before I read this thread! Now I'm just perplexed. So to aleviate some confusion, I'm just going to call her LAWLth. Or Lollerskates.

Wee Jas has got to be the coolest deity on the list. Really, what two concepts are cooler than magic, and death? She's got them both. I've always been a fan of non-evil death gods. People need to get over the death=evil thing.
