Core Three Only?

I only run core only. Everything else is taken on a situational basis. Ask and I might even say yes. But the only things a player is allowed to assume is availible is the stuff in the core 3.

That being said, My homebrews usually have a few dozen availible alternate races, classes, and PrCs, but none of these can be found in any published books.

My current campaign is using the Core 3 Rulebooks only...Has anyone else tried this austere but low-complexity approach to their game?
While I can't say that I've officially run a core-only game, most of my 3E games were 95% core (at least on the PC's part). My approach was always "core is allowed, but everything else requires permission." Permission was normally granted, but few players asked. In a few cases, I only allowed the non-core feat after an in-game quest/plot hook was followed through.

I'm running my Age of Worms campaign as a Core & Complete only - no house rules.
This has been very successful so far. Playing a rules as written campaign certainly gives you a hearty appreciation of the 3.5 rules.
