Adventure Ideas Guard The Construction The United Federation of Planets Engineering Corp is setting up a mining station in a remote sector that is rich in various resources, but Starfleet couldn't afford to send a ship to stay in the area. A starship is only able to pass through the system as part of its patrol once a week for 30 hours only. Hook The UEF Engineering Corp is hiring allies and independent forces to guard the mining station and the construction ships building it until its finished. There are pirates and raiders in the area and need to be either chased off, or defeated. The PCs could be heading to this system on purposes for other reasons, or accidentally (minor disruption to FTL system, or running out of fuel) and upon entering are contacted by UEF Engineering Corp to see if they are friendly or hostile. If friendly, ask if the PCs will act as guards until the next visit from the Starfleet ship patrolling the area. Rewards The Engineering Corp is willing to repair any damages suffered while protecting the site, plus any salvage from attackers. Klingon Ex-Patriots Thanks to the Cluless Virus, Klingons from multiple points in the Timeline appeared throughout Klingon space and outside it. Many from the mid to late 2200s appeared, including those that looked more human, thanks to the virus that affected many during the Augment experiments that was cured by the crew of the NX-01 Enterprise, and they find the current situation of the Klingon Empire being allies with the Federation and other groups that were enemies in their time. They took what ships they had, and any other like minded groups and left the Empire to act as pirates, mercenaries, or create their own fiefdoms where they could. Some believe themselves to be true Klingons and fight the false High Council currently in power. Well off and larger Ex-Patriot groups will have several D7s as their flagships, and really lucky groups will have D7 mk2s with its cloaking device. Roaming Marauders Single to small fleets of these Ex-Patriot Klingons have been attacking civilian trade routes of traditional Klingon Empire enemies, such as the Federation, the Romulan Star Empire, and others, raiding transports, taking slaves, or attacking small military ships and facilities for supplies or for the Glory of the Empire. The PCs could be hired by the affected governments/military organizations to investigate/patrol affected areas, and destroy any of these Marauders. Or might be hired by local planetary/system governments or transport companies that are being attacked to protect next convoys or their area of influence to protect it. Can scale the Klingon marauders that attack from a single ship to a small fleet of up to 10. Ships range from anything made pre 2350, but mostly mid to late 2200s, the TOS and Movies era (when the USS Enterprise and Enterprise A served), although some 2100s ships might make up support ships or for lower level PCs. Rewards Major governments (Federation/Starfleet, Romulan Star Empire, etc) or local system governments can offer monetary rewards for destroying a number of ships, greater if civilians/freighters not damaged. Local system or planetary governments can't offer as much, but may off discounts on services available in their system. If the PCs capture any of the ships, they can keep or sell the ships as long as it was not a major government/organization hired them, as they will want the ships. But any cargo on the ships are granted to the PCs. The crews, depending on PCs moral codes, and who hired them, can be turned in for any bounties, or sold for slavery. Dethrown the Despot A group of Klingons have used force to take over a small colony or station, making the inhabitants their virtual slaves for entertainment and labour. A distress call was sent out when the Klingons first showed up, but afterwards all communications are cut off, except for communications controlled by the Klingons. The PCs could have received the original distress call, or they were told about it from a contact that deals with the affected colony/station. Or the PCs might have come to the colony/station for another purpose only to discover it is now run by Klingon marauders. The Klingons will have ground forces consisting of half the crew of the ship(s) in orbit, while the rest remain on the ship(s) in orbit that maintains control. Rewards The rescued colony/station will do what they can to pay the PCs, most likely with supplies, taken from the defeated Klingons that wasn't already theirs taken by them, off repairs to the PCs equipment and ship(s).
