In this handout picture made available Tuesday Oct. 28, 2003 by the Israel-based Cornershot Co. in Tel Aviv, Israel, a rifle is seen composed of two parts; the front, that can swivel from side to side, containing a pistol with a color camera mounted on top, and the back section which consists of the stock, trigger and a monitor. According to a report by the Israeli daily 'Maariv' newspaper, the pistol, produced by the Florida-based Cornershot Holdings, is being tested by the Israeli military and has already been bought by a number of special forces around the world. The unique weapon allows a soldier to remain behind cover, with only the barrel of the rifle exposed in the direction of the hostile fire. (AP Photo/HO, Cornershot)

Hi, Mistwell --- long time no see.

I saw that on CNN the other day. That's a nifty gun. The Israelis are makers of all sorts of nifty guns...

but it is a pistol, not a lot of recoil. Not sure the calibur but what 9mm, 10? *shrugs* The 9mm I fired seemed pretty tame recoil wise.

I think aiming it accurately would be more troublesome. Certainly a interesting gun, but just kinda odd. Reminds me of the rifles made in ww1 for firing out of the trenches against the enemy because of the proliferation of german snipers.

Indeed, a long time. I have not been around the d20 Modern boards lately, since I failed in my quest to recruit enough people to get a game going. I am now deep in an Arcana Unearthed game, and planning on starting a Stargate game (which I got railroaded into). I miss d20 Modern, and will eventually get back to it.

In fact, I still have on my list of things to do the completion of the Department 7 Rescue Squad. It is composed of Doctor Elliot Klien - Combat Medic; Wheelman Stephanie Lynch - Vehicle Expert; Gunner Col. Russell Whitfield - Weapons Specialist; and two unique vehicles used by the D7RS - their Rescue Helicopter and Undercover Van. About half of the characters are done. But, I fear it will be quite some time before the remainder are finished.

What part of L.A. were you trying to recruit players from? I'm tucked off in a little corner of the S.F.V., currently gaming some D20M in North Hollywood on Friday nights, something like a steady game would be neat...

I live close to you (Sherman Oaks). Had I but known...unfortunately I cannot handle DMing the Stargate game, and playing in the AU game, and doing yet a third game (right now). But I will keep it in mind...I would love to play.
