X Xarlen First Post Sep 15, 2002 #4 It's a creature in the MM2. Little magical beast, a tropical burd that can cast Color Spray.
Thanee First Post Sep 15, 2002 #6 burd = bird, I suppose. I don't think you can have any creature with 'special powers' as a non-improved familiar. Just animals (note that the bat comes very close to a creature with 'special powers', tho). Bye Thanee

DarkJester First Post Sep 15, 2002 #7 I'd say the fact that it can cast a spell would make it strong enough to require the improved familiar feat. Especially if it can do it at will. I don't have the MM2 and am going by what you said.

X Xarlen First Post Sep 15, 2002 #8 Well, I would agree, but compare it to the Imp, Mephit, and Shocker lizard. It's... kinda weak, to require a feat at 5th level to get. Yes, a Bird. Yeesh. Last edited: Sep 15, 2002
