Cosmology with multiple material plane

I'm thinking of a nice cosmology, based on the planetar cosmology described in the last pages of MotP.
The idea (not very original, anyway) is to have something similar to a planetary system (even if planets are planes, and travelling between planes is done as standard planar travel, and not as space travel).

The Astral plane is the Space. (and has the appearance of a clear night sky full of stars)

In the center there is the sun (plane of positive energy).

There are five material planes:
- the first, very small and near the sun, has Major Positive Energy and so it is not inhabited. It is also very hot.
- the second is also small, but it has only Minor Positive energy; it is still hot, but it's inhabited by a few people
- the third is a large planet (the normal campaign world)
- the fourth is medium sized, a bit cold, but inhabited
- the fifth is small, and near the elemental belt, and so has very strange seasons. Very few people live here

Outside there is the elemental belt: there are the four elemental planes, and the four para-elemental planes between them. You can travel all around these planes without planeshift, but the journey is very long and you have to travel in many different kind of enviroments (ice, water, fire, ...)

Outside there are the external planes (the 16 elemental planes like in the standard D&D cosmology, even if in my world the gods that live there are different). The external planes rotate around the sun but mantaining their relative positions

Planar travel is as usual, except that you cannot travel to any material plane that is not your home plane. The only way to reach another material plane is to travel in the astral plane and pass through the gate when there is a solar eclipes in the material plane you want to go. (but since the materal planes orbit always on the same geometric plane every time there is a planet directly between you and the sun there is an eclipse) It is not necessary to say that eclipeses are very dangerous moments.

Any comments/suggestions ?

Ok, here´s an advice as useless as any other, but you requested it. :)
Keep it simple; I don´t really see the need for outer planes or elemental planes. Simply, create more "planets" and make some of them home of the gods; make those planets similar to the existing planes but simply change the names. Your players will not notice this trick if you tell them they are just "alternate material planes". The idea of the sun being the origin of the positive energy is nice; maybe, the planets away from it have the negative energy trait.
