Cost/Time to use a Golem Manual?

The 42 HD Advanced Stone Golem gets 7 stat boosts placeable at it's creator's desire, but keeps the non-advanced Slow DC. The Greater Stone Golem has fixed stats, but a much higher Slow DC (31 vs. 17).
Both have the Higher DC. The DC is still a factor of HD because it is a supernatural ability.

A spell like uses 10 + Spell level + Stat mod

A supernatural ability uses 10 + (1/2 HD) + Stat mod

This is why a LOT of monsters outgrow thier CR's when advanced. As the hit dice pile up, the DCs can become practicaly impossible, even for those with good saves.

Ah, even better.

So what's the value of 7 arbitrary stat boosts on a critter where every meaningful ability score (Str, Dex, Wis) starts out odd? Does it cover the CR difference of 3 (16 vs. 19) and the market price difference of 94,000 gp (196,000 gp vs. 280,000 gp)?

Really hard to say. I'd love some of the playtest documents on this subject.
