Does any 3.5e book contain conts and prerequisite for making permanent Animated Objects?

We know how to creat Golems. But Animate Object spell just animate things for a short time.

I'd treat it as wondrous item. The problem is that a cleric or bard would would have to create it, so its off limits to sor/wizs.

If a bard made it (and assuming no bonus 6th level spell) it would cost 153,000 gp to create it. If he/she want to sell it he/she would charge 306,000 gp.

If a cleric made it would cost 99,000 gp to create it. If he/she want to sell it he/she would charge 198,000 gp.

Actually, yes it does.

The last line of the spell description says it can be made permanent.

Then, if you look up Permanency in the PH, it shows that it can be make permanent with a Caster Level of 14 using 3000xp.

Limited Wish should allow sor/wiz to do it...depending on the level. Wish for sure.

In any case, Storme's method is is probably cheaper.

Thank you for your help.

So, that does mean, most of the Animated Objects are just ordinary objects under the effect of permanent Animate Objects spell. Thus, those "creatures" can be "killed" by Dispel Magic or similar spells. That is interesting.

Refresh my memory, but can't permanency be dispelled?

From SRD

You can make the following spells permanent in regard to yourself ........ This application of permanency can be dispelled only by a caster of higher level than you were when you cast the spell.

In addition to personal use, permanency can be used to make the following spells permanent on yourself, another creature, or an object (as appropriate). ........ Spells cast on other creatures, objects, or locations (not on you) are vulnerable to dispel magic as normal.

And the question is:

Can one permancy affect one casting of animate objects (including multiple smaller objects)?

And second question:

Can you cast Hardening on them?

Can one permancy affect one casting of animate objects (including multiple smaller objects)?

I think so as the permanency spell says "Additionally, the following spells can be cast upon objects or areas only and rendered permanent." It says "Objects", not "an object".

Can you cast Hardening on them?

It is clear that you can cast Hardening before casting Animate Objects spell. The gray area is if you can cast Hardning on something already animated. Some DM may say that is already a creature and not an item.

So then the benefit of an animated object as a wondrous item is not having to worry about dispelling, however, if it gets dijoined then the :):):):) hits the fan.
