Could we start seeing more system-lite products?

Could we see them? Sure. Are we likely to? I don't think so.

It seems to me that doing systemless products worth buying is more difficult than doing similar system-specific products. And getting them to sell when they aren't allied in marketing with a system is apt to be similarly difficult.

Pretty much my opinion as well. A lot of fluff is tied to system in tenacious ways.

First thanks S'mon and Korgoth for the compliment. Glad to have happy customers.

Problem is most people buy pre-made adventures to save time. If they DM still has to stat out the encounter, no time is saved. To the 3-4 people who respond "I don't buy pre-made adventures for the stat blocks" or "I always rewrite the stats anyway" remember this thread is pre-selecting folks who want system-lite products. The folks who need the stat blocks saw system-lite in the title and decided this thread is not for them.

Mini-settings seems to be a niche that works well with system-lite stats. Even with minimal stats they save time for the DM. Most DMs don't either have the time or inclination to deal an area beyond a dozen or two ideas. Having written 350 villages for Wilderlands, eight settings for PoL. It gets old fast for something you do for fun.

I can see using a system lite approach by going a step below the settings in Points of Light (see http://www.goodman-games.com/downloads/4380-PDF-Preview.pdf) and detailing a dozen or so 5 mile hexes. Obviously it wouldn't be totally random them but have a theme like a orc forest or mountain region.

Below that you get into adventure modules where system lite module have a checkered past. Above PoL you get into full blown settings which means you are competing against just about everyone and the past.
