Counter Collection 2, yucky elementals and packaging comment.

I picked up the Counter Collection 2 yesterday, I am going to officially have to get little zip-loc craft bags to seperate all these into now that I have both sets, so I can have "Bag of orcs" "Bag of Kuo-Toa" and so forth, but anyways..

I'll be frank, those computer rendered images for the elementals are flat out rotten. Claudio Pozas' art style has grown on me for the rest of the counters, but those bad CG elementals stick out like a sore thumb, and look downright out terrible IMHO. If there's any more CC sets, please stick with the nice hand-drawn art.

I also thought I'd comment that the back of the packaging has pictures of counters from the first set that aren't included in this set. Since there's no complete list of the counters on the outside, I could imagine this confusing or upsetting some people who were expecting to get trolls, mummies, gnolles, or whatnot out of the CC2.

Absolutely! Either that or a craft box of some sort. I've done the same thing, but only in very general categories (humanoids, dragons, beasts, etc).

I dunno if they're rotten but I will say that I didn't like them nearly as much as the other stuff. (The gelatinous cube was computer-done too, but not quite as bad/noticable.)

I want there to be a "CCIII: urban adventures" myself!

Well, the elementals were a bit of a let down (though I did like the earth type). The Grey Ooze is also weird looking. But you must admit that the rest of the set is just great.

I am also putting in a vote for an Urban Adventures pack. With city guardsmen (with leaders), a large and varied number of commoners, and number of sheets of furniture and things. This would be a great aid and I think is would sell well.

Really?

I kinda dig the air elemental, myself.

As far as the packaging thing - I believe you're talking about the bottom "bar" on the cover.

This is the same image as Collection I - and NOT the one we sent to the printer. The cover we designed can be seen here:

CC2 cover

Somehow, the printer used the image file from CC1.

However, I think the back cover outlines what to expect, and though I wished they'd used the correct file, I didn't even notice for 2 weeks, so I don't think it's too important.

Keep the suggestions for CC3 coming! I'm liking what I hear - expect to see it late this year, around October or so.
