Counter Collection from Fiery Dragon (how to store?)

So I have all three of the 4e counter collections now. There are a LOT of counters here. I think I'll prefer these heavily to using miniatures for storage/transportation/cost reasons, but I haven't exactly solved how to keep them organized.

Any ideas for cheap/simple/portable ways to transport a lot of counters? Organization is somewhat important as I don't want to have to search through a tin with over a thousand little pieces in it for the one I need.

You can get cheap plastic totes with lots of little compartments at Home Depot or Lowes. I'd imagine many other places as well. Like the bigger tool caddies, but more the size of the pencil box with little 1 inch to 2 inch cube sections.

You can also buy the little single server Glad or whatever plastic refrigerator bins. You can buy a pack of 4 oz plastic cups with snap on lids for a few bucks at a grocery store. Also, if you know someone with a baby, some baby foods (Gerber at least) come in little plastic containers. They are the same size as a baby food jar, but flat and rectangular with pop on plastic lids.

All these are great for throwing related counters in one bin and then keeping a bunch of little containers in a show box or the like.

Craft stores (like Michaels) often carry such things. Look in the section of the store devoted to bead-work.

You can also look at small tackle boxes at some of the same places, Wal-Mart (if you engage in such evil) or Target would likely have some nice cheap ones, lots of small compartments and some have a clear-ish top that you could apply labels to so you know which bin has what, like a box of chocolates.

I use small ziplock bags (just over 3x5 inches). I write the types of monsters on a 3x5 card and slip that inside the bag so that it's readable from the outside. Works well.

I personally organize my monsters by type (animal, goblinoid, etc), but any organizing scheme could work.

I have filled a tackle box similar to this with just the Heroic one. Paragon and Epic should fit in a single box.

I tried separating them by letter, but that hasn't worked out so well...

I use a small binder (3x5?) that holds ziplock bags. I think it's a cross-stitch thread organizer. It works very well. All the benefits of ziplock bags and all in one handy place. Very little wasted space either, since if a bag is nearly empty it lays almost perfectly flat.

I tend to use a lot of minis, but I love the counters to keep dead bodies on the board without taking up space.
