Counter Collection Questions

Here are the questions in no particular order:

1) Counter Collection Gold: Is this just a repackaging/resizing of the counters from Counter Collection I and II? Or do these counters have all new pictures? I ask because I already own Counter Collection I and II and don't want to repurchase the same counters again (but resized to fit 3.5).

2) Counter Collection 4: It has creatures from Arcana Unearthed. Does it include the stats for these creatures or do I need to purchase AU to get them?

3)What's up with this Tin thingy? I heard Piratecat mention it.

This set is packaged in a roughly 4x6 tin, so you have a place to store the counters once they are cut out.

Oooooooo :heh: Oh, well. I mount my counters on 1/4 inch balsa wood (or is it 1/8th? Eh, doesn't matter) to make them easier to pick up and move around so I doubt they'd fit back in the tin.

Thanks for the answer, though!

I imagine the Arcana Unesrthed counters will not have stats.

Also, if you happen to have access to g\a good printer, they have some in pdf format at RPGNow. These you can print as many as you want for hordes of counters.

Diamond Throne counters

Hi,

Stats are only given for the monsters that appear in the Fiery Dragon adventure Plague of Dreams. The other counters depict races from Arcana Unearthed (litorians, sibeccai, giants etc), monsters from the Diamond Throne supplement, monsters from Mystic Eye's Siege on Ebonring Keep adventure and some MM monsters.

It's a nice set of counters if you're using any of the AU stuff. Hope this helps

Hi, Doc!

Here's the answers:

1) CC Gold is _not_ a repackaging of CC1 + CC2. Nearly half of the 350+ counters in CCGold feature all new art! For the larger mosnters, we tried very hard to make them full-body artwork (for long creatures) or height-sensitive artwork (for tall creatures, so a vrock looks smaller than a balor, even though both are Large). Some of the other images come from CC1+CC2, while others come from several Counter Packs. But all in all, it's over 150 brand new images!

2) CC4: AU has stats for the new creatures introduced in Plague of Dreams. As mentioned by RichGreen, the majority of counters are PC-counters, while others come from the Diamond Thorne setting book.

3) The tin box is large enough to fit most counters, even if balsa-mounted. As it turns out, we fitted over 37 4x6 counter sheets into CCGold's tin box. You can read more about it here: http://www.fierydragon.com/DB/DB_JAN21_2003.htm

Between CC5: Summoned Creatures and CCGold, you'll have two tin boxes to carry your counters around (not to mention upcoming collections, like Mutants & Space Adventures, Character Collection and other exciting projects soon-to-be-revealed!).

Hey, it also says they're going to be die-cut again! Is this still true? If so, I'm buying two.

A good chunk (I think 31 out of 37 pages or something like that) are die-cut in CC Gold. There are a few pages (6?) off odd-sized creatures or different layouts that you'll still have to cut-out, but the bulk of the collection is die-cut.

It should be noted that Counter Collection Gold also comes with 12 Adventure Tiles by Ed Bourelle. You can use these tiles to build dungeon corridors and settings, and HEY! they are the perfect size for use with the counters!

Thank you both for the answers. Very helpful. You'll have my hard earned money for sure now. I was going to buy more of the D&D miniatures, but I'm totally hooked on CC.

Of course, I do have a few more questions. ;)

1: What are the approximate dimensions of the Tin?

2) Is CC Gold available yet (the website says April 2004)?

The "Summoned Creatures" tin is about 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 1" (just measured it with a cheap-o ruler). So, if they're the same size, this information might be helpful.
