Countering Invisibility

Er... I was going to mention some monster abilities, spells, tactics and environements, but it seems almost everyone else got there first. :p

Did anyone mention putting her underwater yet? You won't see her, but her bubble will at least give away what square she's in.

The spot check is only DC 20 if moving. At mid-levels+ that is pretty easy. Listen checks are probably even easier to make. Every spellcaster with scribe scroll (and not) should have a spare dispel magic/see invis/invis purge when prepared for trouble.

Ime the problem with invisibility is that it is one person in a party. I had a band of ogre barbarians happily ignore the (ineffective) invisible rogue and hoe into the party. That campaign reached the point where the hapless rogue/sorc would go invisible and the looks and groans of the other players just cracked me up. That was his trick and it sucked.

What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Opponents have access to invisiblity too and many are smart enough to put it to good use. When no one can see the other, it evens the playing field.
