Couple of Questions About GenCon History

ColonelHardisson

What? Me Worry?
I won't be at GenCon, unfortunately, but the approach of it has put me in mind of a couple of things I've been wondering:

1) Do they still run Dawn Patrol events? For years these were the only events that had run continuously since GenCon's inception.

2) What were "Bob" events? I've asked this elsewhere, and the answer was that they were adventures run by a particularly popular DM named, of course, Bob. I assume this is correct, so what was so special about them that they got a special notation in the GenCon registration manuals years ago? And do they still run them?

I've never been to GenCon, but I always enjoyed reading the little event synopses in the registration books. They often had some nice hooks for adventures.

Did not see any Dawn Patrol listed this year but may have missed it.

The Bob games, were 'designed' by a Bob (can't remenber the last name). The Fluffy games were the same way. You also had Fez, zef, that later became nascrag. If I remember correctly this were team events and teams would try and reform every year.

I never did any of them myself but a friend of mine was big into fez/zef games.
