Crafting Magic Armor...

Yes, yes, yes.

Now, be honest: there's NO decernable benefit from making armor out of dragon hide, given the DMG. So why bother?

Well, there's one benefit- it's a non-metal armor, and wouldn't be affected by stuff that affects metal, right? So no rust monster attack, heat/chill metal, etc...

Wait, you mean it'd would be just like Hide armor? Wow...that's an incredible benefit and reward for killing a dragon.......

;)

Dragonhide: One dragon produces enough hide for a single suit of masterwork hide armor for a creature one size category smaller than the dragon....
Now, to be fair, if you can kill a dragon 4 size categories larger than yourself, you can make Full-Plate that a druid could wear, and that would be something.

Lessee...4 size categories larger than Medium would be ....(uses fingers)...a size Colossal dragon. So a minimum Great Wyrm Red Dragon (no other chromatic dragon can be colossal!) with a CR of 26.

....so, you're telling me that there's no better, lower-level, cheaper way of making non-metallic full plate for our poor druid?

Your what hurts? :)
