The bird lets out a piercing cry and circles overhead.</em></p><p></p><p>The Crayghe are a rare breed of hawk trained and domesticated by elves. Few Crayghe live in the wild. The crayghe are intelligent and able to understand simple commands in elvish.</p><p>Crayghe do not stray from their elven masters, and they are able to survive almost anywhere there is game for them.</p><p></p><p><strong>Combat</strong></p><p>Crayghe begin combat by diving onto their foes, and then they go after the target's eyes, attempting to blind them.</p><p><strong>Blinding Attack:</strong> When a Crayghe attacks with its beak, it goes for the eyes of its foes. If a crayghe deals damage with a bite attack, the target must make a DC 10 Reflex save or be blinded in one eye due to eye damage (See damaging specific areas on Page 27 of the <em>DMG</em>). If the save is failed by 5 or more, the blindness in that eye is permanent, otherwise, the blindness lasts until the target has regained at least 1 hit point. Permanent blindness can be healed by a <em>heal</em> or <em>regenerate</em> spell. The save DC is Constitution-based.</p><p><strong>Diving Attack:</strong> A crayghe that charges a foe from a height of 30 feet or higher, deals double damage with its talons, in addition to the normal benefits and hazards of a charge.</p><p><strong>Skills:</strong> Crayghe recieve a +2 racial bonus on Listen checks, and a +8 racial bonus on Spot checks.</p></blockquote><p></p>
