creating alchemical items

I cast "Baconstorm!"
Can anyone suggest a resource for figuring costs, DCs and prices of alchemical items?

I'd like to stat up a few new items, but the SRD isn't very helpful for extrapolating this info. Thanks.

I am in the same boat as you. I have a player who has created an alchemist. As far as costs, DCs, etc; I am just making it up as I go along. This means that the player has to understand that I retain the right to change things as I go along.

Remember, this is a game. It is our job as game master to create the world. Don't fear that power.
 

Hehe, indeed. GM handwaving certainly is an art ;) I think my real problem stems from the fact that the crafting rules are, well, horse hockey (to put it nicely). Consistency with RAW, in this case, leads to some really unsatisfactory results, imho (namely that price and time-to-create are so closely connected).

So maybe a better question is: Can anyone recommend an alternate set of Crafting rules?
