Creating the Snake Plissken Dilemna in D&D

Three Geas spells. One for the job, the second for "You will NOT find a means to break these Geas', the third for 'You will NOT tell anyone about these Geas'.

PS: Just checked the SRD. It says that Break Enchantment can't dispell a Gea/Quest. You need a miracle, limited wish, or wish. Did something change?

Personally, I abhor the notion that the DM is circumscribed by the same rules as the players. It's the antithesis of everything I think RPGs should be, and that I enjoy as a player and as a DM. It contributes to this notion that the players are entitled to complete control over their environment, encourages metagaming, and removes the sense of exploration and wonder and mystery that makes the games interesting.

Small magic item attached to the character. It sets off a [insert evil spell here] in 24 hours. Attempting to tamper or dispell it sets it off.

Well, the first thing you need to do is remove the magic aura.

There's even a RAW way to do the second part - Wrap it up with a lot of pages of high CL explosive runes (also with aura removed), then put the whole thing in a second case (enchanted with multiple auras. ).
