Creature/Hazard?

Greetings,
Not quite sure if this is the right place for this or not, but, here I go..
I'm writing an adventure and I've stumbled into a format problem. An environment has a bit of a nasty side to it; any sign of creatures entering its area results in a random attack of sorts. The attack itself is, for the most part, harmless, requiring simply a Will save and, at worst, delivering 2d4 points of subdual damage. The attack itself takes no form; at best, one may notice a shimmering of light. Invisible, incorporeal. Here's my problem: should I write this up as a 'natural hazard' or, write up some sort of creature Stat Block?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
