Creature Types, Creature Types everywhere.

First Post
A buddy of mine woke up this morning, called me, and asked a question I hadn't really thought about before and can't seem to locate a ruling on.

What if an Undead gains a Type other than Undead (Outsider, for example)?
Do you treat it as the new Type, retain it's old Type, or does it have both Types?

As to the original question.
Undead rarely (if ever) become Outsiders (or plants or anything), but can be outsiders (or humanoids) that become undead. If they are, as far as I know, their type is "Undead (augmented outsider[or humanoid/or whatever], etc.)"

Example, an undead... Leonal
Undead (Augmented Outsider, Good, Guardinal, Extraplanar*)
*If not on its native plane.
ps. Please forgive if I missed a subtype, I don't have the book in front of me.

Anyone else hate that book with a passion?

YES.
It is barely legal/canon except people keep citing it.
