Creatures By Poll - Monster #3!

My entry for Monster #3 may seem familiar, since it was my second option for Monster #2. I liked it so much, I couldn't let it die. Maybe I'll have better luck this time.

SHORT VERSION: Monster #3 looks like a giant flying bronze frisbee with razor-sharp lashes that it uses to decapitate its prey. It is blindingly fast, unflankable, and its flight creates a whining sound that also causes people to have convulsions

LONG VERSION: Monster #3 appears as thin, bronze, faceted disk (8' wide) with numerous (1 per HD) wire-thin tendrils dangling from its perimeter.

Each tendril is serrated and has a 10' reach. When the creature attacks, it spins rapidly like a frisbee, creating a cutting edge as they lash through the air. On a critical, the tendrils act as a vorpal weapon.

The facets on the disk are actually its "eyes", providing all around sight (i.e. no flanking). Its metallic apprearance isn't just for show...it's armored to the hilt.

That's not all folks! As the tendrils whiz through the air, they also create a secondary effect, a high-pitched whine that causes all creatures within 100' to make a Will Save or fall to the ground in an epileptic-like seizure, frothing at the mouth.

And finally....if it wasn't apparent, this badboy flies.

By the way....

From the entries we have so far, I can see this creature will be more to my liking....ichor, tentacles, cancerous protrusions, frothing at the mouth.

Gotta love it. Always go for the gross-out...that my motto!!

That's without a doubt, an eerie aberration, and I like the original concept.

Three things:

a. Needs a wider diameter if it's going to be Huge, or does Reach count toward Hugeness?

b. Why a Will save against physically-induced seizures?

c. Those two things don't affect the short version of the concept, so you don't have to answer.

I had imagined that it would...with the tendrils it would be a 28' diameter. It could easily be a 8' radius...would that make it Huge?

b. Why a Will save against physically-induced seizures?

I guess it depends on how you envision the seizures. I saw it as a result of type of mental vertigo, so I automatically assumed Will Save. Fort save works just as well, though.

c. Those two things don't affect the short version of the concept, so you don't have to answer.

I have a lot of time on my hands.

hey pete, that's perfectly fine! i did say you could do that, didn't i?

and i do like it that you used a "short" and "long" version! the short version would go on the poll, and if we use it, the long version will join with the monster's decription later.

everyone else should do it that way too if they're so inclined! (that includes anyone who's posted already)

rock on. i just reposted that on the necromancer, nutkinland, mortality, montecook, and seanreynolds boards (wizards boards are blocked by my filter at work), so hopefully someone will see it and be interested. don't be discouraged folks - it usually takes a few days to get this part done. the regulars all give their shot at it, and the rest just trickle in over the next week or so.

well... despite my best efforts and encouragement, we haven't had any bites in a few days. i will probably start this poll either sunday or monday, even if we don't get any more entries (hey, that's better odds for all of you!)
but please, if you get a chance, make one last plea for more entries.
