They have already stated that the applications for D&D Insider will be Windows based. They are using DirectX for the game table and character visualizer, which I seem to recall is enormously difficult to port to the Mac OS.
As sad as it makes me, I doubt Mac users will get 100% operability from D&D Insider, unless they dual boot into Windows. Since the dual boot allows you to run Windows natively, it won't have the problems of a virtual OS (slow, oh so very slow), but it will be an extra expense to purchase Windows, and Mac laptops are already more expensive than comparable Windows machines.
