Cross class skills for class skill price?

Which feat or ability allows one to buy cross class skills at class skill ranks, but keeps the cap on cross class skills the same?

Also, where is that feat or ability found?

This is also a house-rule IMC. Cross-class just mean you can't add ranks above half (character level +3). (If you're multiclassed and thus already are above that limit because you maxed it out at your previous level in another class, then that just mean you can't improve it this level.)

So, IMC, Able Learner instead just moves the cross class rank limit from half of (level +3) to three-quarters of (level+3).

Well, by the RAW, you can still max out a skill (Buy ranks equal to your total level +3) if that skill is a class skill for any of your classes. So if you are a Wizard 1 / Fighter 9 you can still buy 13 ranks in Spellcraft, you just have to spend 22 skill points to do it [4 + (9*2)=22].

I like able learner, but I wish it could be taken after 1st level.

We've house-ruled it so that once you have 5 ranks in a cross class skill (10 skill points), that skill is treated as a class skill. We figured it was a large enough of an investment to render a nice benefit, but not so terrible a price to make it so unattractive.

So when your Fighter 10 says "he just cast Suggestion!", it's because he's decided Spellcraft was what his guy wanted to study.

You can? Hmm.

You're right, you can. Good to know! Suddenly having just one level in rogue looks a lot more attractive!

Thanks for pointing it out :D
