I am currently running a Kickstarter for our upcoming fall gaming convention in Wichita, Kansas, and I have a question for the assembled masses. My core management team is principally comprised of roleplayers, with a lot of similar interests kind of sprinkled into the group. I'm wondering how common tabletop cross-pollination is for roleplayers in general. We are scheduling events for CCG and LCG enthusiasts - including a Magic tournament - miniature wargamers, board game fans (even LARPers!), but I have yet to figure out how best to divide my square footage for various interests. I know we have a sizable miniature gaming community and a considerable Magic crowd, but I'm betting that most of the groups that favor either pursuit to the exclusion of other types of games will be less enthusiastic about the con. I'm working on some incentives - prizes and guests and such - but I'm mostly just curious about the breakdown.
So... assuming you're a roleplayer, what else would draw you to an event and how much emphasis would you prefer to see placed on those opportunities?
TsunamiCon 2014 is happening November 7th, 8th, and 9th in Wichita, Kansas. If you're in the Midwest - or like to travel for quality gaming conventions - and are interested in learning more about the con, I invite you to visit our website or (even better!) check out our Kickstarter page.
