Crossgen RPG by Fast Forward Games?

I'm a huge CrossGen universe fan ( especially "The FIRST" ), so I made a few inquiries.

I have been told that they have already given out the writing assignments for the CrossGen book ( yes, sounded singular ).

That's really about all I know though.

I'd LIKE to see a core book with variant rules ( new magic system? ), PrC's, details on "Sigil" powers and effects, the First's role (as deities?) etc..., - This book would not have a defacto setting ( but maybe a cosmology ), but would let you introduce a "Sigil Bearer" to any game world - and then follow up with books that focus on each of the different worlds featured in their comics.

I haven't bought anything from them in the past 16 months or so, but I have noticed many people expressing negative opinions of Fast Forwards' fantasy d20 publications. Hopefully this 3rd party licensing deal will give them an opportunity to correct any past mistakes or perceptions - As I'm such a big CrossGen fan, I'd really like to see this project do well...

edit: added some druthers

Well, the press release says "Two more volumes will flesh out the CrossGen RPG later this year. "

So at least 3 books are planned, probably more.

Hopefully they learned a lot from their little problem with WOTC, and the end result will be better.

***wincing*** Fast Forward is also the company producing R. A. Salvatore's Demon Wars RPG. I'm also a CrossGen fan (though I'm woefully behind on reading and buying right now) so I hope both projects turn out well. I've never yet picked up a Fast Forward game product myself so I can't judge, but it always makes my heart sink a little to hear a company that's producing something I'm looking forward to is getting bad reviews.

What exactly have the negative opinions been? Anything specific or just "This sucks"?
