“A merciless world populated by anthropomorphic animal races, new classes & game options, equipment, kinds of magic, and much more! Historia is a Dark Fantasy Renaissance setting for the 5th Edition of the world's greatest roleplaying game that introduce the setting of Vesteria, a merciless land, full of intrigues and populated by anthropomorphic animals. The characters will find themselves against the hardships and dangers of a feral and precarious world. The heroes of Historia will explore unknown lands, unravel plots and intrigue and will be forged by the fires of adventure. Historia is born from the collaboration between Mirko Failoni (concept artist and illustrator for Vampire The Masquerade, Age of Sigmar, The One Ring, Pathfinder, Wraith The Oblivion, Lost Citadel and many others), Michele Paroli (author of Journey To Ragnarok, founder and lead designer of Mana Project Studio) and Matteo Pedroni (part of the game design team of Journey To Ragnarok and upcoming CMON Zombicide RPG). Our goal is to produce a hardcover book of ~250 pages packed with full-color illustrations and maps, including (depending on the stretch goals reached, they may increase) 15 new playable races, called Familiae, divided into Species that will allow you to play ~50 different anthropomorphic animals, 9 new classes designed to fit a Renaissance setting, each with different archetypes, new powerful kinds of magic, and firearms rules and historically accurate equipment.”

Harper's Tale: An Adventure Path for DnD 5e by Saturday Morning Scenarios
  • END DATE: Sat, October 5 2019
  • SYSTEM(S): Dungeons & Dragons 5e
  • PROJECT TYPE: Adventure module
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: $21 for the PDF and POD of the book
  • NOTE: This RPG and charity product are available via IndieGoGo. “All net proceeds from the crowdfunding campaign will be donated to benefit Friends of Kids with Cancer to help others like Harper [co-author of Harper’s Tale] who are battling cancer.”
  • NOTE 2: On EN World, I interviewed Matt Corley of Saturday Morning Scenarios about his last crowdfunding project, Lamp's Light Sanitarium: A Horror Sourcebook for 5th Ed. (Read it here)
Harper's Tale is a forest-based adventure path of 10 connected adventures culminating in the party, now 10th level, confronting the source of the plague within their homeland. The adventure is intended for players as young as 10, but I promise players of all ages will find plenty to keep them engaged with the story. The adventure path starts in the Village of Grove as the heroes come to a seemingly deserted village. Through exploration and investigation, they learn that a mysterious illness has taken over the town, leaving only two young women, Rose and Grace, to care for the populace.

The adventure is based on an outline my daughter, Harper, and I wrote after coming home from the hospital after her first round of chemotherapy treatment for leukemia. On February 2nd, 2019, my youngest daughter, Harper, was diagnosed with leukemia. The next few days were hard. Two days after diagnosis, while sitting in bed, Kelly from Child Services came in with a gift card from Friends of Kids with Cancer. Harper immediately perked up, and within 15 minutes she’d sent me out of the hospital to spend that money!! Friends of Kids with Cancer gave us our First Good Day. Harp is in remission and we want to give back some of what they’ve given us. Harper is a gamer; she’s in Tales of the Margreve (Kobold Press) with her sister, Ghoul Island (Petersen Games), and she plays D&D and loves to write stories. It only makes sense that we write a D&D adventure book together and to use it as a platform to raise funds Friends of Kids. This project began as a conversation in the hospital, turned into an outline after she was discharged, and is now an amazing book that we’re all so proud of. Joining Harper and I are an elite team of creators including Jeff Stevens, Ben McFarland, Brian Suskind, Hannah Rose, Ashley Warren, Kienna Shaw, Bill Barnett, MT Black, Donathin Frye, Anna Landin, Gwendy B, Anna Meyer, Dyson Logos, Jessica Ross, and others! Kobold Press and Petersen Games also pitched in to us bring this to life.”

Wave Man: Samurai RPG by Thunderegg Productions
  • END DATE: Sun, October 6 2019 9:13 AM EDT.
  • SYSTEM(S): “An expansion of Nate Treme's brilliant Tunnel Goons game”
  • PROJECT TYPE: Core rulebook
  • MOST POPULAR PLEDGE: $25 for the PDF and POD of the book
“A tabletop RPG of ronin, ninja, martial arts and fantastic creatures. For group or solo play. The Japanese term ronin translates to "wave man". A ronin was a masterless samurai who had to travel from village to village looking for a patron. Starvation, bandits, and worse were regular hazards of life. Yet the most skilled of these warriors became legends. As a wave man, can you overcome the hand that destiny's dealt you? Learn the way of the Bushi. These warriors are samurai who use the katana and other weapons to deadly effect. Their class feature is swordsman schools, which enhance their combat ability when they fight using specific elemental stances. If you've ever read the works of Takashi Matsuoka or James Clavell, or are a fan of films such as The Last Samurai or those directed by Akira Kurosawa, then you're familiar with the inspirations for this game. This game is a simple 2d6 system that is an expansion of Nate Treme's brilliant Tunnel Goons game. All you need to play, besides the book, is a pencil, paper and a few six-sided dice. This makes it easier for you to pick up and play the game wherever you happen to be.”

“The long awaited 2nd Edition for SLA Industries is here. Featuring a new rules system, new playable races and beautiful art. SLA Industries (pronounced "Slay Industries") is an award-winning pen-and-paper role-playing game that was first published in Scotland in 1993. The game is a horror noir science-fiction setting set in a dystopian reality in which the majority of the known universe is either owned or indirectly controlled by the eponymous corporation SLA Industries. The game incorporates themes from the cyberpunk, gothic horror and conspiracy genres, and has always been praised on the quality of writing and art. SLA Industries is considered one of the first and best examples of the Splatterpunk genre in RPGs. The World of Progress, the universe in which SLA Industries operates, is a science-fiction image of the 1980s, where the fax machine spews out information alongside green-screen computers and vat-grown biogenetic monsters, who compete with humans and exotic alien races for work in an overgrown city that plunges deep underground. We are very lucky to still have the original creative team at the core of this RPG. Dave Allsop and Jared Earle have been here from the beginning and have a clear vision for the future of SLA Industries. As with all of the SLA Industries publications, there will be high-quality art, brief stories, character quotes and other in-game content to bring The World of Progress to life. SLA Industries 2nd Edition will be crammed full of full-colour art, presenting one of the best visualised worlds in the RPG arena and the the most stunningly visual representation of The World of Progress to date.”
