Cry Havoc

The mass combat system by Skip Williams, Cry Havoc, goes on sale as a pdf on Monday the 21st of July.

This 136 page book has a fully-fleshed out, 3.5 compatible mass combat system that allows your PCs to interact with a war in any way imaginable--as commanders, as bystanders, as agents, or anything in between.

Plus, it has all the material you'll need to integrate the event of a war into your campaign.

The print version of Cry Havoc will be released in October.

This not only looks good the cover is one of the best looking covers I have seen in a long time. I e-mailed Todd just to tell him he outdid himself. Great job and I can't wait till October.

I've been waiting on a good D&D mass combat system for ages, i think this will atleast be very interesting (can't judge what i haven't read), if the other event books are any indication.

Now i'm very curious, how expensive is this going to be? Both the pdf and the print version?

Oh, and is the mass combat system OGL?

Good.

What about flavor-wise?

I know that AU makes different assumptions than D&D (in fact that is one of AU's core premises), does Cry Havoc fit in well with these assumptions?

I playtested Cry Havoc. It should work fine with AU since it doesn't provide a lot of *new* D&D mechanics, just ways to use the old one in a battlefield or war setting.

I suppose, generally speaking, war is war. Cry Havoc does talk about what you do with a unit of guys casting magic missile, or when 100 soldiers have to fight 5 umber hulks, or other specific D&D type issues, but since AU is compatible with D&D, the issues are the same, it's just the specifics that are different.
