November 6, 2003-- Cryptosnark Games is pleased to announce that the Book of Distinctions & Drawbacks Modern, originally released in July, will be updated within the week as the original Book of Distinctions & Drawbacks has been. Cryptosnark's Scott Lynch had this to say:
"Well, I was talking to the BODD-Modern, and it's a bit jealous of the original BODD. It's worried that I might love the original more than I love the Modern version, you see. I have been spending more time with the old BODD lately, giving it new material and new proofreading and a cosmetic upgrade. I can see where the BODD-Modern is coming from, you know? Suddenly, its older sibling is like a younger sibling again. Everyone is oohing and ahhing over the BODD, and the BODD-Modern feels left out. We can't have that. A depressed PDF is not a pretty sight.
"By and large, I'm very satisfied with the content of the Book of Distinctions & Drawbacks Modern. What's going to be done to it is a cosmetic update, to bring it in line with the new standards displayed in Thaumatech and the Book of Distinctions & Drawbacks Revised. I'll add a few pages of new and useful material, to be sure, because I never can resist doing that anyway. I expect to have the new BODD-Modern on sale next Monday, November 10th, for $5.95. As always, purchasers of the current version can expect a free update.
Cryptosnark Games is also offering the two books together-- 133 pages of gaming material-- in a bundle for just $8.95, a savings of $2.00 off the price of purchasing them separately. "If you've been wanting to check them out, it's probably an ideal way to do it," says Lynch, "and you'll get the revised BODD-Modern for free in just a few days to boot."
