And it was frightening to realize just how closely the deliberately corny dialogue in the "Astro Quest" scenes really did sound like some of the clunkier scenes from the original Star Trek...

Also, in the audience after he revealed the new version of the show you could see Boomer. That for me sold it as not just hitting on Star Trek but also oBSG vs. nBSG.

I did not realize that was him. That's not only hilarious, it shows a level of research and humor that many shows would never consider. Again, hilarious!
