Cured! - 7/20/04

First Post
Today is my last day of chemotherapy.

So why am I posting this here? Last September I found out that my bad sinus infection was actually Rabdomiah Sarcoma (sp?): cancer in my sinus passages. Like most people who find out that they have a tumor in the their head, I pretty much wrote myself off at that point. I dropped everything just to deal with it. After a couple of months, when the radiation was was finished and it was becoming obvious that I actually had a chance against this thing I started to think about getting on with my life. I was in no shape to get back to playing RPG games at this point, however, so I filled that space with by reading the message boards; in particular Dr Nuncheon and Piratecat' s storyhours.

As the RPG bug grew and my health steadily improved I finally got back to running a game every couple of weeks. I even went to the Massachusetts ENWorld game day this past weekend and had a great time. So the point: I'm back, cured and looking forward to many more years of rollplaying action, and I wanted to thank ENWorld for being there when I needed it.

That's great to hear. Cheers for good health.

But, . . . you were sick for months, and you only read two storyhours? If I had an excuse to stay in bed that much and just read the computer, I'd've read 'em all. *grin*

Congratulations! I know from first hand experience how hard radiaiton treatment followed by chemo is on the body. I hold people who can whether the treatment in high regard.

I'm telling you, man, I'd never have known you had been sick: a superb role player AND an incredibly nice guy, plus more vigor than most people I know. All I can offer you are my congratulations, and to tell you that you happen to be one of those folks who look really good with no hair. :)

You fooled me too. I was just saying to Ao that I thought you were bald on purpose. It looked good on you.

Congratulations! I hope next game day I can sit at a table with you.

Having had a friend suffer through the chemo, I have to say this is beyond excellent news.

And you should be proud of yourself!
